FOCUS – Ms Malida
Ms Malida, AD Learning Center Champasak
Improving the language skills of Champasak’s residents and employees in the tourism sector!
“Thanks to the support of the CHAMPA project, I was able to finance the rental and fitting out of a space to welcome students and train them in English and French. The space is open to both children and adults. We also train employees working in the tourism sector so we can offer a better service to international tourists visiting Champasak.”
Malida was lucky enough to learn English and French with her father, but that’s not the case for many young people. When she heard about the call for proposals, she immediately wanted to apply to open a language center to enable young people to learn the basics or improve their English and French.
The center is also open to adults. Enrolment fees are deliberately kept affordable to ensure that as many people as possible can attend. It also plays an important role in enhancing Champasak’s tourist appeal by improving the skills of employees in the tourism sector.
The center is located in the city center.
