“With the help of the CHAMPA project, I was able to renovate and restart the restaurant after COVID-19. I was also able to launch a project that was close to my heart: training young people from Champasak in catering and introducing tourists to Lao cuisine through cooking classes. The income generated by the restaurant is now much higher. I can save money to continue improving the restaurant”
Bounmee jumped at the chance when he heard about the call for proposals: it was the perfect opportunity for him to restart his restaurant after 2 years of closure during COVID-19 and to finance the renovations it needed.
It also enabled him to open cooking classes for tourists to pass on his knowledge. The restaurant quickly became a popular meeting point for backpackers, which is not to be missed!
