About Champasak
Champasak sits along the Mekong River, about 35 km south of Pakse. It’s a quiet rural area shaped by riverside landscapes, rice fields, and small villages.
Beyond the UNESCO World Heritage site of Vat Phou, it also features archaeological sites and traces of both Lao and colonial heritage around the main town. The peaceful atmosphere of the Mekong and riverbank villages invites you to slow down, discover artisanal crafts, and witness living traditions that are still part of local people’s everyday life.
