Natural and architectural unique heritage
Champasak offers a wealth of heritage, with the UNESCO-protected Vat Phou complex and the village’s colonial houses, as well as a rich and varied natural environment.
The Mekong, of course, is omnipresent in the village and influences the landscape. Just behind the village, at the foot of the Phou Kao mountain, a reservoir created in the 1990’s has created a wetland that is ideal for growing rice all year round.
This wetland is home to many species of birds and can be visited by bike or on foot.
