FOCUS – Ms Thatsany

Ms Thatsany, Traditional Lao desserts

Discover one of Champasak’s favorite spots for sweet treats!

“The CHAMPA Project is positive for Champasak. It allows villagers to have a better life. With this support, I was able to buy new cooking equipments, and improve my shop. Now, things are easier for me. I can buy more ingredients, sell more products, and my customers have a place to sit and enjoy their food.”

Ms Thatsany

Ms. Thatsany has been making desserts in front of her house for many years. Her shop was already popular among local residents, but her equipment was getting old as well as her roof, which made it difficult to work during the rainy season.

Thank to the CHAMPA project, she was able to improve her workplace and continue to prepare a variety of homemade sweets. In the future, she hopes to introduce new recipes, so make sure to stop by and try some sweet local snacks!

The shop is located near Wat Amath Temple in Champasak, on the road leading to Vat Phou, and is open several mornings each week. For practical details, please visit its Google Maps page: https://maps.app.goo.gl/U8TwsakEjXzG2x647.
