ACCESS TO CHAMPASAK
How to arrive to Champasak

The called « Champasak » town is located in the district of Champasak, in Champasak province. It is in the southern Laos, along the left side of the Mekong river and can be accessible from Pakse city.
To access to Champasak, you can arrive by this options :
By air:
From Vientiane (2 daily flights), Luang Prabang (3 flights a week), from Siem Reap ( 3 flights a week).
By land:
From Ubon Ratchatani/ Thailand (via Chong Mek border crossing – 6:00am to 8:00pm): approx. 160 km and 2h30 min drive.
From Pakse airport by taxi or minivan: (approx 45km and 45 min. drive)
From Dao Huang market and main bus station in central Pakse: approx 40 km and 40 min. drive (departures every morning).
Pakse main bus station is an important hub for Vientiane, Thakkhek, Savannakhet but also for Thailand (Ubon Ratchatani, Bangkok) and Cambodia (Siem Reap, Phnom Penh).
By boat:
Local slow boats are available on request (contact the tourism Information Center or ask at your accommodation for more information). The cruise on the Mekong between Pakse and Champasak takes about 2 hours
