“I have always loved going to cafes, and thanks to the CHAMPA Project, I was able to buy everything useful to open my own: tables, fans, coffee and tea from the Bolaven Plateau, and the equipments to prepare them. Now, many tourists visit during the high season, but also Lao customers all year. And most importantly, I have enough income to invest in my other passion: growing plants!”
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms Khandamani worked with her family in a pharmacy in Pakse. When she returned to her native village after the pandemic, the Project CHAMPA gave her the opportunity to start a new chapter by opening her own cafe. Since then, she has more income to support her family and expand her plants nursery.
Davanh Cafe combines these two passions: quality coffee and home-grown plants, creating a charming atmosphere for visitors. Set beneath a traditional wooden Lao house, it offers a pleasant place to enjoy a drink while discovering a small corner of local life in Champasak.
Located just after the first bridge when leaving Champasak village, it’s an ideal place to take a break before continuing your journey to Vat Muang Kang or Vat Phou.
